Christmas Dance Concert 2009

Had a wonderful night last night with Kayla and Caleb performing in Ballet and Jazz. Here are some pics of them in their costumes from the dress rehearsal on the 13th of December.

The Gymnastics Comp and Dress Up Day

On Friday the two Powell children had the local high school come and teach them some circus skills. Kayla was a trapeze artsist and Caleb was an acrobat. A fun time was had by all! On Saturday, a scorching 37 degree day, they both had to perform for their Gymnastics Competition.

Wanneroo Show 2009

The Powells had a big day out at the Wanneroo Show. It included Camel rides, Balloon rides and Swing Chair rides. It finished with a fireworks display they could watch from the comfort of the Babun's front lawn.Balloon Ride Fireworks

Trek the Trail 2009

Today the Powells and the Mitcheners walked all the way from Mundaring to Darlington - a whole 9kms. It rained then it was fine then it drizzled then it was fine and so on until they got on the bus to go back to the start. Fran did some art work that was displayed on the way. Hail the Hail!

Very exciting today as we had a downpour followed by a hail storm. The kids were very excited as it is the closest thing they will get to snow here. A couple of snaps of the hail.

Kayla achieved her splits today after a long time trying. Here is a little video (a little dark) to record the event.

Caleb, Cuts and Cuddles

This photo was in CALEB's school newsletter today. He had a visit from the Chidlow Marsupial Hospital where they look after native animals at his Kindy and he was lucky to have CUDDLES with a joey (baby kangaroo). The photo was even more impressive with his enormous CUT and bruise on the side of his head which he got when he tripped on the grass and fell on the step. He still looks pretty gorgeous!

Happy Birthday Fran!

Easter Sunday 2009

Best picture of the day...the rest were a bit blurred. Golden bunnies were found under the beds this year...That Easter Bunny is so tricky! We went for lunch at Aunty Vicki's House sitting house in Brigadoon and Kayla went down the slide cautiously into the pool, whilst Caleb went in at full speed!

Stephen and Fran celebrated their 10th Wedding Anniversary in hot and humid Broome WA. The children were left in Perth with Nanna. They stayed at Broome Beach Resort for the night and explored Broome for the 2 days. Here are some pictures....
